Selective Insurance invites rising college juniors and seniors to join a Summer Internship Program in 2027. This 11-week, full-time experience blends hands-on software work with exposure to Generative AI, cloud-native development, and modern software engineering practices.

The program is hybrid, located within commuting distance of Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC, and offers collaboration with experienced engineers to build impactful solutions for the Commercial Lines team.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Passion for technology and eagerness to learn.
• Experience with programming languages and willingness to learn new ones.
• Strong communication and collaboration mindset.
• College credit may be earned depending on institution requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to design, build, and test software supporting Commercial Lines.
• Work on real-world projects using modern tech stacks, cloud platforms, and agile methodologies.
• Explore Generative AI tools to enhance processes and customer experiences.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team stand-ups.
• Contribute to an Action Learning Project addressing a real business challenge.
• Learn how technology drives innovation in insurance.
