Job summary

The Hanover offers a 10-week Summer Internship Program in its Technology team, inviting college students to work on real projects using Java, Python, and C++. You’ll gain hands-on GenAI experience and collaborate with mentors to design and implement web technologies.

You will understand user experiences end-to-end and present your work to management at the close of the program, with opportunities for potential full-time employment after graduation.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
  • Commit to a full-time 10-week internship.
  • U.S. work authorization required now and in the future.
  • CS/Software background preferred.
  • Experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript is a plus.
  • Experience in prompt engineering is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and MLOps tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in software development using languages such as Java, Python, or C++.
  • Gain hands-on experience with Generative AI frameworks.
  • Understand GenAI patterns such as RAG and vector databases.
  • Integrate GenAI models via REST APIs, microservices, or cloud-native architectures.
  • Perform in Core Java with OO concepts, syntax, data types, and secure coding.
  • Collaborate with senior developers to research, design, and implement web technologies.
  • Understand users end-to-end experience and identify improvements.
  • Adhere to quality standards and collaborate with project teams during development.
  • Create and present a final presentation for management and leadership at internship end.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

  • Attend weekly development workshops with your intern peers
  • Join in engagement and social activities with other interns

Our Technology team is seeking exceptional college students for our Summer Internship Program, which provides meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth, as well as rewarding career path options.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL
  • Assist in software development using languages such as Java, Python, or C++
  • Gain hands on experience with Generative AI frameworks
  • Understand GenAI patterns such as RAG, Vector Databases
  • Integrate GenAI models, including REST APIs, microservices, or cloud-native architectures
  • Perform in Core Java - this includes understanding object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts such as classes, inheritance, polymorphism, encapsulation, and interfaces, as well as familiarity with Java syntax, data types, exception handling, collections, and secure coding
  • Work closely with senior developers and mentors to research, design, and implement web technologies
  • Understand our users end to end experience, and find ways to enhance it
  • Adhere to all quality standards and proceduresCollaborate with project team members during development process
  • Create and present a final presentation for management and leadership members at the close of the internship program highlighting the work you accomplished throughout the summer
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
  • Ability to commit to a full time 10-week internship program
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
  • Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software background preferred
  • Experience in HTML, CSS, Javascript, and other front-end technologies is an additional benefit
  • Experience in prompt engineering
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps tools (ex: MLflow, Kubeblow) is a plus

The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors, including merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills for the role, education, travel requirements, and experience. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus (which could take the form of a general bonus, sales incentive, or short-term incentive), long-term incentive or spot recognition awards.
