Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking an Instrumentation & Control System intern to join a dynamic team in Huntsville, AL. This paid summer internship (May–August 2027) offers hybrid work and exposure to hardware design, testing, and system documentation within a reputable energy solutions company.

You will report to the Plant Computer Senior Manager and participate in hands-on development, testing, and documentation activities for plant computer and annunciator systems.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• Completed Sophomore year of college.

Responsibilities

• Support creation of hardware design documentation such as cabinet layout drawings, cable/wiring schematics, and system architecture drawings.
• Support hands-on manufacturing and testing of new plant computer and annunciator systems.
• Support development of system and hardware design specifications.
• Support creation of documentation for procurement and manufacturing.
• Support resolution of technical issues including obsolescence.
• Support development of test procedures and execution of functional tests.

About the role:

As an Instrumentation & Control System intern, you will be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the development of technical products and systems.

You will report to the Plant Computer Senior Manager and be located at our Huntsville, AL facility. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer, May - August 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support creation of hardware design documentation such as cabinet layout drawings, cable/wiring schematics, and system architecture drawings
• Support hands-on manufacturing and testing of new plant computer and annunciator systems
• Support development of system and hardware design specifications
• Support creation of documentation for procurement and manufacturing

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $25.40 to $29.00 per hour.
