Summer Intern - Hardware Engineer is responsible for supporting the development of embedded hardware solutions for electronic access control and security products. As a Summer Intern - Hardware Engineer, you will work as part of a highly engaged small team within a global organization of more than 12,000 employees representing over 30 brands, including Schlage, Von Duprin, and LCN.
You will gain valuable experience in defining and scoping requirements for hardware, designing and documenting architecture, schematic capture, PCB layout, testing, and integration into a larger modular system. Additional opportunities include learning electronic locking systems, access control solutions, and participating in peer reviews on design and testing. The Advanced Development team focuses on innovative products that enable seamless access while helping keep people safe and secure where they work, live, and thrive. This role provides meaningful project work supporting the Advanced Development team, learning opportunities, professional development, and the opportunity to build strong relationships with peers and leaders across the organization.
