Job summary

Allegion is offering a Summer Intern - Mechanical Engineer position at Hague Road Technical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. You will contribute to design, development, and technical analysis of moderate scope and complexity, collaborating with engineers to ensure processes, tooling, and equipment support manufacturing-related parts.

You will gain hands-on experience developing 3D models and using tools such as Creo, MS Project, FMEA, RCA, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.

Qualifications

Summer Intern - Mechanical Engineer, Hague Road Technical Center - Indianapolis, Indiana

As an Allegion Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will contribute meaningful work and make a direct impact on the Mechanical Engineering Competency. You will gain valuable experience in design, development, and technical analysis of moderate scope and complexity, either independently or as part of a project team. Generate, evaluate, analyze, and develop design concepts for components and assemblies to achieve new product requirements and/or current product improvements. Collaborate with other Engineers to ensure the appropriate processes, tooling, and equipment are available for manufacturing-related parts. Additional opportunities include learning about electronic locking systems, access control solutions, how residential and commercial security differ, and participating in peer design reviews.

What You Will Do:

• Experience in Mechanical testing techniques.
• Utilize tools such as Creo, MS Project, tolerance stack templates, and others as needed in product development.
• Collaborate with a team to produce well-rounded solutions.
• Participate in daily and other regular team meetings, including project teams and Mechanical competency.

What You Need to Succeed:

• Pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., Mechanical Engineering, System Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative, e.g., school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, leadership on school or work projects, etc.
• Basic electronics understanding.
• Ability to work in both a team and individual setting.
• Resiliency and ability to adapt quickly.
• Effective listening, time management, and creative problem-solving techniques
