Job summary

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) invites motivated engineering students for a 2027 Summer internship in our New York City office. You will work alongside industry experts to gain hands-on experience applying classroom knowledge to real-world problems.

Interns will participate in construction monitoring, testing, and analysis, with travel and fieldwork possible. A strong academic record and passion for fire protection engineering are essential.

Qualifications

• Interest in Fire Protection engineering.
• Maintains high grades in studies.
• Strong communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction monitoring, field investigations, and observations.
• Analyze materials and support petrography staff.
• Collaborate with SGH engineers on site reconnaissance and testing.
• Organize field data and assist with research.
• Perform analysis under licensed professionals using hand calculations and software.
• Assist with client deliverables and reports.
• Travel and work from heights may be required.
