Job summary

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) seeks current students for a 2027 Summer Internship in our Denver, CO office. You will work side-by-side with industry-leading experts to gain hands-on experience while applying classroom knowledge to real-world challenges.

As an Intern, you will assist with construction monitoring, field investigations, and design, and you will gain exposure to structural analysis and client deliverables. Travel and heights may be involved.

Qualifications

• Students should have an interest in civil and structural engineering.
• Maintain high grades and enthusiasm for hands-on consulting experience.
• Strong communication abilities and eagerness to learn in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction monitoring, field investigations, condition assessments, and project drafting.
• Analyze materials, support petrography staff, develop test protocols, and analyze data.
• Collaborate with SGH engineers on reconnaissance of existing structures and field tests.
• Organize field data and assist with research to enable analysis and repair design.
• Perform analysis under licensed professionals with hand calculations and software.
• Assist with preparation of client deliverables including documents and reports.
• Work may include travel and working from heights.
