Job summary

NiSource is offering a 12-week Summer Engineering Internship in Valparaiso, IN. The program targets students entering their junior or senior year and aims to provide hands-on experience within a team environment on important projects in the utilities sector.

Interns will learn NiSource operations, build professional relationships, and participate in development activities and team-building events. This role focuses on the Engineering field with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a four-year degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering or Technology.
• Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study.
• Ability to work 40 hrs/week during the summer.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team managing the Chemical & Environmental Compliance Program for all Generating Stations.
• Support data collection and reporting to stakeholders around Station Chemical & Environmental performance.
• Promote continuous improvement within the department through data analysis and collaboration.
• Assist in the organization and generation of reports for Compliance purposes.
• Assist in monitoring plant chemical and mechanical systems to ensure compliance.
• Evaluate trends of operating data and maintenance performance to identify problem areas.
• Support department Capital and O&M projects for new or existing Process Chemistry/Environmental equipment.
