Job summary

Southern States Cooperative in Siler City, North Carolina, is offering a Summer 2027 Energy Operations Internship in a part-time, seasonal format. The program exposes students to energy operations, logistics, customer service, safety practices, and cooperative business management, with mentorship from experienced professionals and networking opportunities across the business.

Interns will work around 40 hours per week at $18.00 per hour, and will complete a final project presentation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Business, Agribusiness, Energy Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related program.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Interest in operations and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to work in both office and field environments.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support daily energy operations activities
• Assist with inventory and logistics planning
• Observe customer service and account management processes
• Participate in safety meetings and training
• Analyze operational processes and identify improvement opportunities
• Complete a meaningful summer project and presentation
• Shadow energy operations team members and gain field exposure where applicable
