Job summary

Southern States Cooperative invites students to join our Summer 2027 Energy Operations Internship in Siler City, NC. You will gain exposure to energy operations, logistics, customer service, safety practices, and cooperative management while working alongside experienced team members.

You’ll be part-time, 40 hours per week at $18.00 per hour, with mentorship from seasoned professionals and opportunities to network with leaders across the business, culminating in a final project presentation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Business, Agribusiness, Energy Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related program.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Interest in operations and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to work in office and field environments.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support daily energy operations activities.
• Assist with inventory and logistics planning.
• Observe customer service and account management processes.
• Participate in safety meetings and training.
• Analyze operational processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Complete a meaningful summer project and presentation.
• Shadow energy operations team members and gain field exposure where applicable.
