Job summary

Koch Fertilizer is seeking a 2027 Summer Electrical Engineer Intern to join our Beatrice, Nebraska team for a 12-week program from late May to mid-August 2027. You will assist with troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems, support maintenance programs, and help prepare data sheets and diagrams for equipment upgrades.

Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in Electrical Engineering, eligible for early 2028 full-time employment, and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Eligible for full-time employment before or by May 2028.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Able to meet all physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting plant electrical and instrumentation equipment: motors, drives, analyzers, control panels, power distribution, and transmitters.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs: inspect, test, and document electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Help evaluate and specify new electrical equipment, instrumentation, and system upgrades: prepare data sheets, one-line diagrams, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate on capital improvement and reliability projects: participate in design reviews and vendor discussions.
• Contribute to risk assessments, root cause analyses, and troubleshooting efforts to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to the engineering and operations teams.
