Job summary

Koch Fertilizer is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team in Beatrice, Nebraska. The role will begin late May to mid-June 2027 and involves hands-on work on plant reliability, maintenance, and process optimization.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a Bachelors program in Mechanical Engineering or related fields, eligible for full-time employment by May 2027, with the ability to meet physical requirements and work in outdoor plant environments.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technologies, or related field.
• Eligible for full-time employment before or by May 2027
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without visa sponsorship
• Willing and able to meet all physical requirements
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment or maintenance systems is a plus
• Involvement in design teams or hands-on projects is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Take on projects that reflect the work of full-time engineers, supporting plant reliability, maintenance, and operational excellence.
• Analyze equipment and data to identify improvements and drive process optimization.
• Support predictive and preventive maintenance to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting to resolve equipment and operational challenges.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings and documentation (P&IDs, PFDs, piping isometrics, plot plans, equipment specifications).
