Job summary

Koch Fertilizer is offering a 2027 Summer Electrical Engineer Intern position in Fort Dodge, Iowa, for a 12-week program from late May to mid-August 2027. This hands-on internship lets you gain real experience in engineering with mentorship from our team.

You will work on troubleshooting, maintenance, and design tasks, contributing to capital projects and reliability improvements. This opportunity requires enrollment in an EE/Instrumentation program and US work eligibility.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a relevant degree or certificate.
Eligible for full-time employment before or by May 2028.
Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without visa sponsorship.
Willing and able to meet all physical requirements.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot plant electrical and instrumentation equipment: motors, drives, analyzers, control panels, power distribution, and transmitters.
Support preventive and predictive maintenance: inspect, test, and document systems.
Evaluate new equipment and upgrades: prepare data sheets, one-line diagrams, and cost estimates.
Collaborate on capital improvement and reliability projects: participate in design reviews.
Contribute to risk assessments and root cause analyses to improve reliability.
Prepare technical reports and present findings to engineering and operations teams.
