Job summary

South Dakota State Government is seeking a Summer Intern for the Division of Criminal Investigation in Pierre. The Intern will support multiple sections with ongoing projects, focusing on case retention, supply organization, and seized-items handling.

Ideal candidates are current part-time or full-time students, with preference for juniors/seniors and South Dakota residents. A background check and drug screening will be required before employment.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a part-time or full-time student at the time of application.
• By start of internship, student should have completed one year (nine months) of their program.
• Preference may be given to juniors/seniors and South Dakota residents/institutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist several sections with ongoing and new projects including case retention and supply organization.
• Assist with issue tracking and management, as well as seized items inventory and disposal.
• Must pass a background investigation to work with sensitive criminal justice records.
