Job summary

South Dakota Bureau of Human Resources and Administration is seeking an Intern for the Division of Criminal Investigation in Pierre. You will assist with processing fingerprint records, filing, and updating the criminal history database.

The internship requires current enrollment as a part-time or full-time student, with at least one year completed by start. Preference may be given to juniors/seniors, SD residents, and SD institution students; a background check and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a part-time or full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
• By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in filing and processing criminal and civil fingerprints.
• Create master fingerprint folders and scan records into the digital database.
• Update and maintain the computerized criminal history database and process background applications.
• Help maintain criminal records and support background investigations.
