Job summary

Bon Appetit is hiring for a Culinary Intern in the Greater San Francisco area for Summer 2027. This paid internship provides hands-on kitchen experience across stations and mentorship from culinary mentors.

The program is designed to expose interns to a leading food service and hospitality organization. Bon Appetit Culinary Internship emphasizes practical, on-site learning with opportunities to engage in wellness and sustainability initiatives and to contribute to events and daily kitchen

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a college/university pursuing a degree in Culinary Arts and/or Hospitality Management.
• Sanitation standards training completed.
• Completion of relevant knife skills and/or Intro to Culinary coursework.
• Available to work 20–40 hours per week; college credit not required, but documentation can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items across all kitchen stations.
• Rotate through stations: pizza/pasta, deli, salad bar, grill, and international cuisine.
• Engage with guests and tailor plates to dietary needs.
• Review culinary and front-of-house standards.
• Learn about wellness and sustainability initiatives.
• Adhere to customer service standards.
• Consistently practice safety and sanitation protocols.
• Assist with catering events, including setup and execution.
• Develop professional relationships and enhance interpersonal skills.
