Job summary

Independence Blue Cross (IBX) in Philadelphia invites applications for a Summer Intern: Corporate Communications Analyst. You will gain exposure to internal and external communications, storytelling, brand and reputation work, and media engagement within a leading health insurer.

Responsibilities include drafting materials, supporting campaigns, social media content, event coordination, and executive communications projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Internal Communications, Social Media.
• Current Junior, Senior, or Recent grad up to one year.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of internal and external communications initiatives.
• Assist with creating communication plans, key messages, and content for various audiences.
• Draft and edit press releases, media advisories, newsletters, and other materials.
• Help develop media lists, research media contacts, and monitor coverage.
• Assist with social media content to support campaigns and events.
• Conduct research to support storytelling and strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate on executive communications projects and leadership messaging.
• Provide writing and proofreading support for publications.
• Assist with planning events, community engagement, photo shoots, and video productions.
• Support day-to-day department operations and special projects.
