This is a part-time, non-exempt, hourly position; not to exceed 29 hours a week. Schedule is Monday through Friday, working from as early as 6:30 am to 3:30 pm.

What You Need
  • High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of food service experience preferred; or any combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge, abilities, and skills.
  • Must successfully obtain a Food Safety Manager certification within sixty (60) days of hire.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to adjust recipes as needed for serving size.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to ensure all meal items are ready simultaneously.
  • Sensitivity to our target population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with approved National School Lunch Program menus.
  • Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snack meals for residents on campus each school day and during summer break.
  • Prepare meals for residents and staff in the Caminos program daily and prepare ahead for weekends.
  • Prepare dinner meals for campus cottages.
  • Complete documentation for the National School Lunch Program, including temperatures.
  • Assist with food preparation for special events.
  • Clean and sanitize the kitchen area and utensils, including laundering towels.
  • Follow safe food handling procedures.
  • Maintain current Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) logs.
  • Provide feedback on menu preferences from residents for updates.
  • Act as backup in the commissary for grocery orders and prep for inventory.
  • Report equipment maintenance needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
