Job summary

Butterball LLC invites you to join its team as a Continuous Improvement Intern at the Mount Olive, NC plant for 10–12 weeks. You will work with plant teams to analyze operational data and help implement improvements that support daily operations.

The internship offers hands-on experience, exposure to safety and productivity initiatives, and opportunities to present findings to leadership. Candidates pursuing relevant degrees with strong analytical and communication skills are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering, Agribusiness, supply chain, or business analytics with a 2027–2029 graduation window.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to work.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Creative problem solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with team members at all levels.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills and data analysis ability.

Responsibilities

• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and waste reduction.
• Assist root-cause analysis using 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams.
• Support daily management systems, Tier meetings, visual boards, and action tracking.
• Assist with process documentation, standard work updates, visual controls, and SOP development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain improvements.
• Present findings and recommendations to plant leadership and stakeholders.
