Job summary

Wohlsen Construction is offering a Summer 2027 Construction Project Engineer Intern opportunity in Berwyn, IL. You will gain practical experience in commercial construction management while supporting the project team with administrative, coordination, and documentation tasks.

You will collect submittals and RFIs, prepare project communications, assist with bid packages, maintain files, support schedule updates and cost tracking, and participate in site visits and meetings.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related fields.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, scheduling software, or construction management systems is a plus.
• Strong written communication, organization, proofreading, and follow-through skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to assigned jobsites.

Responsibilities

• Collect, review, process, and distribute submittals and RFIs.
• Prepare and distribute project documentation, meeting minutes, correspondence, and project communications.
• Assist with bid package coordination, quote coverage, project billings, and draws.
• Maintain accurate project files and logs, including permits, change orders, submittals, RFIs, and closeout documentation.
• Support Project Managers with schedule updates, cost tracking, and day-to-day project management activities.
• Participate in site walks, safety inspections, quality observations, and project team meetings.
• Coordinate with trade partners, design partners, and internal team members under the direction of the project team.
• Travel to project jobsites and regional offices as assigned.
