Job summary

Wohlsen Construction is seeking a Construction Project Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 in Connecticut. You will support the project team with administrative tasks and gain practical experience in commercial construction management.

The role involves handling submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, bid package coordination, and site visits. Strong communication and organization are essential, with travel to assigned jobsites.

Qualifications

• Strong written communication, organization, proofreading, and follow-through skills.
• Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Collect, review, process, and distribute submittals and RFIs.
• Prepare and distribute project documentation, meeting minutes, and project communications.
• Assist with bid package coordination, quote coverage, project billings, and draws.
• Maintain accurate project files and logs (permits, change orders, submittals, RFIs, closeout docs).
• Support Project Managers with schedule updates, cost tracking, and day-to-day PM activities.
• Participate in site walks, safety inspections, quality observations, and team meetings.
• Coordinate with trade/design partners and internal team under the project direction.
• Travel to project jobsites and regional offices as assigned.
