Job summary

Wohlsen Construction Company offers a Summer 2027 Construction Project Engineer Intern position to gain practical experience in commercial construction management. You will support the project team with admin, coordination, and field activities, including site visits and travel to offices.

Responsibilities include handling submittals, RFIs, and project documentation, assisting with bid packages, cost tracking, and maintaining meticulous project files.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related fields.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam or scheduling software is a plus.
• Strong written communication, organization, proofreading, and follow-through skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to assigned jobsites.

Responsibilities

• Collect, review, process, and distribute submittals and RFIs.
• Prepare and distribute project documentation, meeting minutes, correspondence, and communications.
• Assist with bid package coordination, quote coverage, project billings, and draws.
• Maintain accurate project files and logs, including permits, change orders, submittals, RFIs, and closeout documentation.
• Support Project Managers with schedule updates, cost tracking, and day-to-day project management activities.
• Participate in site walks, safety inspections, quality observations, and project team meetings.
• Coordinate with trade partners, design partners, and internal team members under the direction of the project team.
• Travel to project jobsites and regional offices as assigned.
