Job summary

Middlebury College invites applications for the 2022 Chinese Instructor position in the Summer Chinese School. The 8-week in-person session runs 6/24–8/19/2022.

The successful candidate will teach Chinese daily in an immersive environment, reside with students, and participate in cultural activities. The qualifications include a Master’s degree or higher, native or near-native Chinese, and the ability to lead co-curricular activities within the language curriculum.

Qualifications

• Master degree or higher; strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated success working as a member of an instructional team.
• Native or near-native Chinese; ability to lead co-curricular activities integral to the language curriculum.
• Demonstrated teaching excellence in Chinese as a foreign language; summer program experience preferred.

Responsibilities
