Job summary

Olin invites motivated students to join the Chemistry Lab Intern program for Summer 2027 in Independence, MO. You will assist with chemical and metallurgical testing, sample preparation, and data collection while gaining hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation and quality processes.

Applicants must be enrolled in a relevant degree with a 3.0+ GPA, have completed at least sophomore year, and be able to work full-time. Housing stipends are available; sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited college or university majoring in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; official transcript required each term.
• Preference for experience in ammunition and firearms industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with chemical and metallurgical analyses using established laboratory procedures.
• Prepare samples for testing, including chemical and metallurgical specimens.
• Support laboratory testing with various analytical instruments and equipment.
• Record and organize test results with accurate documentation.

Education

Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering major

GPA 3.0 or higher

Sophomore year completed (60 credits)
