  • Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate Chemical, Civil, Industrial, Mechanical, or Metallurgical Engineering degree program.
  • Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale; transcript required each term.
  • Must be able to work part-time (20 hours/week) while taking classes; not eligible for virtual work.
  • Must have completed sophomore year (60 credits) before first rotation; valid US driver's license; ITAR data access clearance and U.S. citizen for site access.

Title: Project Engineer Intern (Multiple Semesters Required)

Location: Independence, MO

Salary: $30.00 / hour

Focus: The Project Engineer Intern supports the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering projects while gaining hands-on experience in manufacturing, process improvement, equipment optimization, and project management. This role works closely with engineering, operations, quality, and project teams to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with technical requirements, schedules, and budgets.

What You'll Do:
  • Assist with the planning, tracking, and execution of engineering projects from concept through completion
  • Support project teams in developing project schedules, milestones, budgets, and progress reports
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, increased efficiency, and enhanced equipment performance
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather information, track action items, and support project deliverables
What You'll Bring:
  • Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate Chemical, Civil, Industrial, Mechanical, or Metallurgical Engineering degree program.
  • Must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale at all times throughout your time at Olin. An official transcript will be required each term. Cumulative GPA on current institution transcript will be used in transfer college situations.
  • Ability to work continuously throughout the year, can be part-time (20 hours per week) while taking classes. Not eligible for virtual work.
  • Experience in ammunition and firearms with a knowledge of shooting sports industry is preferred
  • Must have completed sophomore year (or 60 completed credit hours) prior to first rotation with Olin
  • Must possess a valid US Driver's license
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with the U.S. Department of Justice and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives
  • Independence Location Only: This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The U.S. Government does not allow non-U.S. citizens onsite at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (Independence, Missouri). Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
