Job summary

Bay College seeks a Summer Custodial Assistant for the Escanaba campus. You will support upkeep, sanitization, and grounds while scheduled as a student employee. Start dates and work schedules are set during interviews.

Candidates must be enrolled for Summer 2026 (and/or Fall 2026), able to work independently, operate power equipment safely, and hold a Bay College student ID. This is a student position with up to 29 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled Bay College student pursuing a degree or certificate.
• Must be enrolled in at least the Summer 2026 and/or Fall 2026 semester at the time of hire.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Ability to safely operate power equipment.
• Must have a valid Bay College student ID.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain dormitory living spaces and common areas.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, showers, and kitchen appliances, including ovens.
• Assist in maintaining the exterior appearance of dorm buildings and surrounding grounds.
• Perform minor repair and maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Assist with painting projects as needed.
• Perform general custodial duties to support a clean and safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
