Position Details

Location: Christian Street YMCA | Part Time, Seasonal, Hourly

Pay Range: $14.50/hr - $16.50/hr

Role Overview

We are seeking a Summer Camp Unit Leader to join our team at the Y! This role involves positively impacting the summer camp community, helping children reach their potential, and changing lives in our Y community.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old
• High school graduate or equivalent, or enrolled in at least 2 years of child development coursework approved by state licensing
• Experience working with children, preferably as a Y Camp Counselor or similar
• Enthusiasm, humor, patience, and leadership skills
• Ability to manage and motivate a team
• Ability to handle inappropriate behavior and recognize hazards

Responsibilities

• Monitor and train staff; ensure adherence to policies
• Plan and oversee camp activities suitable for age groups
• Manage behavior and ensure safety
• Communicate with parents/guardians
• Promote diversity and inclusion
