YMCA Camp Chandler in Wetumpka, AL invites applications for a Chandler Leadership Coordinator (CLC) to develop and lead Camp Chandler’s Leader in Training program. This role oversees three two-week LIT sessions, shaping a curriculum that builds leadership, kindness, confidence, and responsibility.

As a mentor and role model, you’ll guide teens, coordinate with camp departments, and help LITs gain real-world skills, resumes, and interview insights while balancing education with camp fun.

Qualifications

• Develop, coordinate, and lead Camp Chandler’s LIT program across three two-week sessions.
• Create a comprehensive and engaging LIT curriculum focused on leadership, kindness, confidence, and teamwork.
• Provide LITs with hands-on opportunities to shadow camp departments and assume counselor responsibilities.
• Mentor, model professionalism, and support LIT participants in personal growth.

Responsibilities

• Plan meaningful group discussions, reflection activities, and team-building experiences.
• Balance education with camp traditions and fun experiences for the LIT program.
• Coordinate with Camp Chandler leadership to ensure age-appropriate experiences.
• Assist LITs in pursuing certifications such as CPR/First Aid when possible.
