YMCA Camp Chandler in Wetumpka, AL is seeking an Activities Director to lead daily land-based activity programs, ensure safety, and deliver engaging experiences for campers under Camp Chandler standards.

Reporting to the Camp Director, you will oversee activity staff, maintain equipment, plan all-camp events, and uphold safety policies while fostering a positive, inclusive camp culture. Outdoor work, strong organization, and hands-on supervision are essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation of all land-based activities and program areas.
• Provide leadership, direction, and support to activity staff and program leads.
• Work closely with the Camp Director to ensure safety and camper quality.
• Maintain inventory and safety of equipment, and ensure areas are clean and organized.
• Inspect activity areas and equipment for safety concerns and maintenance needs.
• Plan and implement all-camp activities, special programs, and theme days.
• Ensure adherence to Camp Chandler and YMCA safety standards and policies.
• Coach, train, and provide feedback to activity staff as needed.
