Chandler Leadership Coordinator (CLC)
The Chandler Leadership Coordinator is responsible for developing and leading Camp Chandler’s Leader in Training (LIT) program, a two-week leadership experience designed for campers entering their final camper year. The program is focused on helping young leaders build confidence, kindness, responsibility, independence, and the skills necessary to become successful counselors and positive leaders within their communities.
The Chandler Leadership Coordinator will oversee three two-week LIT sessions throughout the summer and will create a structured, engaging, and fun curriculum that balances hands-on camp leadership experiences with personal growth and valuable life skills. Through mentorship, real-world responsibilities, and exposure to various areas of camp, LITs will learn what it means to lead with confidence, serve others, and positively influence those around them.
The Chandler Leadership Coordinator must be able to create and maintain a positive, encouraging, and engaging environment for LIT participants while balancing the educational and developmental goals of the program with the fun and excitement of summer camp. This position requires strong communication, organization, patience, creativity, and the ability to build genuine relationships with teenagers. The Chandler Leadership Coordinator should model the qualities they are teaching, including kindness, confidence, responsibility, humility, professionalism, and a willingness to serve others. This individual must be comfortable challenging LITs to step outside of their comfort zones while providing the encouragement and support necessary for them to succeed. The Coordinator should understand that the goal is not simply to teach LITs how to be counselors, but to help them discover who they are, recognize their potential, and become confident young leaders who positively impact the people around them.
