Job summary

The Middlebury College Summer Arabic School invites applications for a temporary Instructor of Arabic to teach and model immersive language use on the campus in Middlebury, Vermont. The position emphasizes reading, writing, and speaking exclusively in Arabic, within a collaborative instructional team.

The successful candidate will have experience teaching Arabic as a second language, welcome opportunities to teach Arab culture and society, and participate in a community of scholars while lodging

Qualifications

• MA or PhD (ABD acceptable)
• Experience teaching Arabic as a second/foreign language
• Ability to teach aspects of Arab culture and society such as poetry, literature, art, music

Responsibilities

• Teach Arabic in an immersive, Arabic-only environment
• Contribute to an 8-week summer program on Middlebury College campus
• Engage with students, colleagues and the program community
