Job summary

PIMCO is seeking an Alternatives Investment Operations Intern for a 10-week program in Newport Beach, CA. You will support trade processes, data integrity, and cross-functional collaboration across the alternatives platform.

The role emphasizes analytical problem-solving, strong communication, and curiosity about new technologies and AI tools. Eligibility includes pursuing an undergraduate degree and ability to start full-time between January and August 2028.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree.
• Must be able to begin full time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2028 - August 2028.
• Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2027 semester (August 2027 - December 2027).
• Have a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale at an accredited 4-year college or university.
• Are business proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Trade Support & Settlement: support trade execution, settlement, and lifecycle events for alternatives transactions across debt, private equity, real estate, and other non-traditional assets.
• Asset Onboarding & Data Integrity: assist with setup, maintenance, and validation of alternative investment assets, legal entities, counterparty details, and related data.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: collaborate with Portfolio Management, Legal, Compliance, Finance, custodians, trustees, administrators, and other partners to resolve operational issues and support timely execution.
• Process Improvement & Controls: contribute to initiatives that improve operational efficiency, strengthen controls, reduce risk, and enhance scalability of PIMCO's alternatives platform.
