AeroVironment offers a paid 12-week Summer Internship Program for students or recent graduates in the United States. The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will support design and operation of manufacturing systems for AV Unmanned Air Vehicles, under seasoned engineers.

Projects cover Lean/Six Sigma, process improvement, and documentation. Applicants should pursue a Bachelor's in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and be willing to relocate for the internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or related engineering field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA; junior year or above preferred.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Support manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma to drive continuous improvement.
• Analyze yields, capacity, cost and process capability for improvements.
• Document standard work hours, sequences, and assembly steps.
• Create and update work instructions for processes.
• Contribute to root-cause analysis and problem solving.
• Assist in capacity planning and factory layout.
• Assist cost estimation for tooling and equipment.
• Collaborate on DFM and reliability analyses.
• Join cross-functional projects with engineering and suppliers.
• Support DFMEA and PFMEA activities.
• Provide input on manufacturing during design concepts.
• Hands-on production floor support including assembly.
• Other duties as assigned.
