Job summary

AIG’s Summer Interns in the Actuarial department offer hands-on experience in a fast-moving global insurance company. You will analyze data, collaborate with teams across Finance, Claims, and Risk Management, and progress through the Actuarial Development Program while preparing for actuarial examinations.

The 9-week program runs June 7 through August 6, 2027. In-person work is required at least four days per week in the office, with opportunities to learn and grow professionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree to be received no later than June 2028 (unofficial transcript required upon application).
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Preferred Majors include Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• Completion of, or demonstrated progress toward, actuarial examinations is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; exposure to Python, R, SQL, or similar technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data and apply actuarial techniques to help quantify risk, price insurance products, and support loss reserving.
• Assist with actuarial analyses, models, forecasts, and reports that support business and financial decisions.
• Partner with experienced actuaries and teams across Finance, Claims, Operations, Risk Management, and other business areas.
• Monitor trends and evaluate financial and insurance data to identify insights and support recommendations.
• Communicate actuarial findings and analyses clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop technical and business expertise while progressing through AIG’s Actuarial Development Program and actuarial examinations.
