Job summary

Education First in Pasadena, CA seeks an Academic Manager for Summer 2027 to oversee the academic aspects of the campus, support teachers, and ensure a high level of customer service and student satisfaction.

Key tasks include coordinating timetables, allocating staff and classrooms, managing academic stock, and delivering staff training and development. This role offers an opportunity to lead diverse teams within EF's international program.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent is required or preferred.
• TEFL certificate or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum six months of teaching experience or one summer teaching for EF.
• Must have the right to live and work in the country of employment.
• Complete fluency in English.
• Attend an in-person training session before your contract commences.

Responsibilities

• Set up the school and ensure classrooms meet EF specifications and remain maintained.
• Coordinate timetables for academic groups and set up classes in EF's system.
• Allocate teachers and classrooms to groups and assist in early class placement.
• Manage academic stock, including exam papers, certificates, and teaching supplies.
• Oversee all teaching staff and integrate them with the campus team.
• Deliver initial teacher briefings and conduct ongoing meetings.
• Conduct teacher observations, provide feedback, and support development.
• Plan graduations with activities team and manage academic training.
• Input data into EF's production system and handle academic paperwork.
• Maintain welfare and classroom discipline; respond to problems and emergencies.
