Job summary

HDR, Inc. invites motivated engineering students for a hands-on internship focused on transportation planning, design, and solid waste projects in Florida. You will work with experienced engineers, gain field exposure, and develop skills using CAD, GIS, and other engineering tools.

This role emphasizes collaboration, curiosity, and active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture. Preferred candidates are local to Florida, with 2 years of coursework, a GPA of 3.0+, and a drive to contribute

Responsibilities

  • Support engineers and project teams on transportation planning, design, and infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with solid waste and waste-to-energy assignments.
  • Participate in field visits, project meetings, and technical analyses.
  • Utilize engineering software, GIS tools, and industry technologies to solve real-world challenges.
  • Collaborate with professionals across multiple disciplines in a team-oriented environment.
  • Contribute innovative ideas that improve project delivery and transportation outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Desire to learn, collaborate, and contribute in a professional environment.
  • Experience with CAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, GIS, or similar software is a plus.
  • Preference given to local candidates
