Job summary

HDR invites talented engineering students to join our internship program in Florida. You’ll support transportation and waste infrastructure projects, work with CAD, GIS tools, and engage in field and design activities.

You’ll gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to multi-disciplinary teams while developing technical and professional skills in a collaborative employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills are required.
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate Engineering degree.
  • GPA 3.0+ preferred and 2 years completed toward degree considered.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineers and project teams on transportation planning, design, and infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with solid waste and waste-to-energy assignments.
  • Participate in field visits, project meetings, and technical analyses.
  • Utilize engineering software, GIS tools, and industry technologies to solve real-world challenges.
  • Collaborate with professionals across multiple disciplines in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Desire to learn, collaborate, and contribute in a professional environment.
  • Experience with CAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, GIS, or similar software is a plus.
  • Preference given to local candidates
Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
