Job summary

Entergy is seeking a Student/Intern to join the Project Delivery Engineering team onsite in New Orleans, LA. You will assist engineers with design, modeling, cost estimation, and documentation while supporting grid reliability and safety initiatives.

Expected to be actively pursuing Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil engineering with a 2.8 GPA or higher, junior or senior status, and graduation dates December 2027 or beyond preferred. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil engineering.
• Junior or senior status with graduation dates December 2027 or later preferred.
• Minimum 2.8 GPA.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in day-to-day activities including design, modeling, and computing tasks.
• Practice in designing optimum transmission-line solutions based on site visits and scope.
• Utilize design software to model surveyed field configurations.
• Estimate project costs and ensure materials are ordered and staged.
• Support projects in construction and process as-built documentation.
• Participate in meetings to support projects, department operations, and safety.
• Contribute to special projects to improve grid reliability.
• Respond to equipment failures and-maintain models/drawings.
• Support automation initiatives to improve practices.
• Travel up to 25% may be required.

Entergy’s Project Delivery Engineering Department is responsible for planning, designing, constructing, maintaining and operating over 16,000 miles of transmission lines and over 2,700 substations across the four-state territory.

Intern Job Description

Working in a team environment to assist engineers in day to day activities including but not limited to:

• Designing optimum T-Line solutions based on project scoping and site visits
• Utilizing design software to model surveyed field configurations
• Estimating project costs and ensuring material is properly ordered and staged
• Following and providing any necessary assistance on projects in construction
• Processing as-built documentation
• Participating in various meetings to support projects, department business, and safety
• Working on special projects to assist in improving grid reliability
• Responding to equipment failures
• Maintaining models and drawings
• Continuously improving practices through automation
• Travel may be required for the position

Education Requirements

• Seeking Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil engineering majors.
• Junior and Senior candidate with graduation dates of December 2027 and beyond preferred.
• Must be actively pursuing a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree as indicated above and at minimum classified as a sophomore or beyond.
