Entergy is seeking a Student Intern Engineering Summer 2027 in Baton Rouge, LA. You will assist engineers with design work, modeling, and project coordination, and gain exposure to grid reliability and analysis activities.

Junior or senior Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil engineering students pursuing a bachelor’s, masters, or PhD—graduation December 2027 or later—are preferred. Onsite work with travel up to 25% may be required.

Intern Job Description

Working in a team environment to assist engineers in day-to-day activities, including, but not limited to: performing designs (based on project scoping and site visits), utilizing design software to model surveyed field configurations, preparing operational IFC design packages, validating estimate prices and equipment units, managing projects that are in construction, assisting construction with completion of as-built documentation, participating in weekly project coordination calls, working on special projects to assist in improving grid reliability and resiliency, supporting business analytic processes through data mining and reporting, as well as performing a wide variety of detailed engineering analysis in distribution-related areas such as planning, economic analysis, maintenance, design, project management and construction, and operations. Travel may be required for the position.

Education Requirements
  • Seeking Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil engineering majors. Junior or Senior candidates with graduation dates of December 2027 and beyond are preferred.
  • Must be actively pursuing a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree, as indicated above and, at minimum, classified as a sophomore or beyond.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent communication and time management skills, great interpersonal skills, good knowledge of personal computer operations and software. Able to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
