Job summary

Granite Construction invites students to join our Project Engineer Intern program for Summer 2027 in Indio and Ontario, California. This role supports site teams with takeoffs, bid preparation, and documentation, while gaining hands-on experience in construction engineering, scheduling, and materials management.

You’ll work under experienced engineers, learn safety protocols, and contribute to accurate estimates and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED and be working towards a bachelor’s degree.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to perform trigonometric calculations and work with measurements.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret designs for takeoff and construction bidding.
• Prepare documentation like status reports and punch lists.
• Provide technical support on materials, schedules, and deliveries.
• Assist with change orders and prepare sketches for estimates.
• Develop data for quantity take-offs and material pricing.
