Your Daily Responsibilities
  • Utilize maps, records, and resources to locate underground utility lines accurately.
  • Operate subsurface utility engineering field equipment such as ground penetrating radar, electromagnetic designating tools, sewer cameras, and other geophysical means following all safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with construction crews to ensure safe excavation and utility installation.
  • Maintain accurate records of utility locations and updates.
  • Conduct inspections to identify hazards or issues.
  • Assist with maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and work sites.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED preferred; specialized training from a vo-tech school is a plus.
  • Entry-level to 5 years of experience as a utility locator or SUE technician.
  • Knowledge of underground utility systems and ability to interpret maps and records.
  • Experience with utility locating equipment such as electromagnetic locators and ground-penetrating radar.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various terrains and conditions, including adverse weather and high traffic areas.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Ability to work over 50 hours during busy periods.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and operate equipment as needed.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License is a plus.
  • Background checks and drug screening are required.
