GEL SOLUTIONS (GES), an affiliate of The GEL Group, Inc., is a niche engineering firm providing subsurface utility engineering (SUE), surveying, and laser scanning services across the United States. We seek energetic utility locating professionals at senior and junior levels to join us in solving infrastructure, environmental, and natural resource challenges.

Position: SUE Technicians I, II, III - Raleigh, NC

We have openings for SUE/utility mapping field technicians in Raleigh, NC. These roles offer high growth potential and are ideal for motivated individuals in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. Responsibilities include marking and mapping utilities for transportation corridors for DOT agencies, commercial, industrial, government, medical, educational facilities, and others. Opportunities also exist to learn and support surveying and lidar services. Fieldwork and travel are required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate and support GEL's core values
  • Manage/support SUE crews and ensure quality work
  • Perform and document field work for SUE, survey, and geophysics projects
  • Operate RF electromagnetic pipe and cable locators and ground penetrating radar systems
  • Operate and maintain air-vacuum excavation trucks and related tools
  • Provide exceptional customer service
Experience/Skills Required:
  • Experience with RF locators and GPR systems is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Physical endurance for fieldwork
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • High ethical standards
  • Ability to evaluate complex issues in the field
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a ME Certificate per FMCSA regulations
