Position Purpose

Join our Geomatics team to start or advance your career in the Subsurface Utility Engineering/Utility locating industry. We offer a dynamic, fast-paced environment working on diverse projects including municipal, university, NCDOT, and private developments.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Perform SUE/utility locating on various projects
• Support the Geomatics team with CAD and office-related tasks
• Utilize MicroStation Drafting and Geomatics technologies
• Learn about utility systems and their installation
• Operate equipment such as EM, GPR, and vacuum excavation tools
• Represent McAdams professionally, adhering to safety and ethical standards

Qualifications

• Experience in land surveying, SUE, or related fields; 1-2 years preferred
• Proficiency in MicroStation
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Willingness to travel and operate survey equipment like total stations and GPS
• Comfort working outdoors in various conditions
• Ability to operate vacuum excavation trucks for utility locating
• Strong technical skills and traits such as honesty, adaptability, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
• Valid driver's license and pass a drug test
