SUE Field Technician – Subsurface Utility Locator

Job summary

AECOM is seeking a SUE Technician to support projects across the Eastern region. This role will use advanced geophysical equipment, observational skills, and deductive reasoning to identify and locate utilities, including vacuum excavation, in accordance with ASCE 38-02 & 38-22.

The position requires a BS degree with related experience or an AS degree with more experience, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• BS Degree plus 2 years of related experience or AS Degree plus 4 years of related experience or HS Diploma plus 6 years of related experience
• SUE, private locating and/or surveying experience
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License required; background check may be required
• Position requires frequent traveling to field locations; overnight travel possible
• Frequent lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds; outdoor work in varied weather
• Daily walking over uneven outdoor terrains; exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise
• Background check(s) required by client

Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced geophysical equipment, observational skills, and deductive reasoning to identify, designate and locate utilities (vacuum excavation).
• Locate utilities within a defined job scope in accordance with ASCE 38-02 & 38-22.
• Support projects across the Eastern region as a SUE Technician.
