Job summary

Bolton & Menk, Inc. in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a SUE Field Technician II to join our Emerging Markets & Services team. You will collect and verify underground utility information to support transportation, municipal, water, energy, and land development projects nationwide.

You’ll work primarily in the field with engineers, surveyors, utility owners, and contractors to deliver high-quality data while promoting safety and efficiency. Some travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in utility locating, SUE, or related field services.
• Familiarity with ASCE 38 and utility quality levels is a plus.
• Ability to read maps and construction plans.

Responsibilities

• Designate and document existing underground utilities using geophysical locating equipment per ASCE 38-22.
• Assist with utility surveying, mapping, and data collection for accurate deliverables.
• Operate vacuum excavation equipment to expose and verify locations.
• Operate and maintain field equipment including locating devices and trucks.
• Support safety by following traffic control plans and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and field notes.
