Bolton & Menk, Inc. seeks a SUE Field Technician II to join our Emerging Markets & Services team.

The role centers on locating and documenting underground utilities to support design and construction across municipal, transportation, water, energy, and land development projects throughout the United States. You will work mainly in the field with engineers, surveyors, utility owners, and contractors, traveling to sites to deliver high-quality data while ensuring safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years in utility locating, SUE, surveying, construction inspection or related field services.
• Experience operating geophysical locating equipment preferred.
• Basic understanding of ASCE 38 standards and utility quality levels.

Responsibilities

• Designate and document existing underground utilities using geophysical locating equipment and ASCE 38-22 Quality Levels.
• Assist with utility surveying, mapping and data collection to support deliverables.
• Operate vacuum excavation equipment to expose and verify locations.
• Operate and maintain company vehicles, vacuum trucks and field equipment including locating devices and hand tools.
• Assist in traffic control plans and follow safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and field notes while protecting confidentiality.
• Travel frequently to project sites and related locations.
