Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is seeking a SUE Field Technician II in Youngstown, OH to support subsurface utility engineering projects. The role requires field work, data collection, and collaboration with survey crews.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 1–2 years of SUE field experience, and a valid driver’s license; ASCE 38 familiarity preferred. Travel will be required for extended periods.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Working knowledge of ASCE 38 guidelines
• Basic interpretation of plans and utility records
• (1-2) years of SUE field experience required
• Valid driver’s license and MVR compliance
• Experience leading SUE QL-A & QL-B field crews preferred
• Survey experience preferred
• Military experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Designate utilities in rural and urban environments using geophysical equipment and field survey data
• Obtain and maintain safety certifications
• Lead 2-person designation teams on mapping projects
• Collect data for vault diagrams and 2DB/3DB mapping projects
• Operate VRS GPR equipment for horizontal data collection
• Coordinate with field crews and travel as needed
