Job summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. is seeking a SUE Project Coordinator I to support planning and execution of SUE projects, coordinating field operations and ensuring accurate detection, documentation, and mapping of underground utilities.

Under supervision, you will assist with QA/QC, data recording, and supporting QL-A/QL-B investigations, gaining hands-on experience with GPR, electromagnetic locators, and GIS data to uphold safety and schedule compliance.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in utility locating, subsurface utility engineering, or a related field.
Familiarity with 811 one-call systems and utility locate protocols.

Responsibilities

Coordinate day-to-day field activities for SUE projects, including scheduling crews and mobilizing equipment.
Perform and support QL-A and QL-B utility investigations using geophysical detection technologies (GPR, EM).
Identify, locate, and map underground utilities per CI/ASCE 38-02 standards.
Oversee and support technicians in identifying marked utilities and control points.
Maintain data recording for marked utilities, structures, and control points in the field.
Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, clients, and agencies on project status and field conditions.
Assist with QA/QC review of field data and documentation to uphold quality standards.
