Job summary

UCS Healthcare seeks a full-time Substance Use Disorder Counselor at our Knoxville, IA clinic. The role provides counseling within the clinic and opportunities for community outreach to expand access to care and support recovery where people live and work.

The counselor will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver individual and group therapy with emphasis on confidentiality and evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum required knowledge, education, experience, skills, and abilities for the role.
• Ability to work in a team environment and adhere to policy and procedures.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessment, admission, and transition planning.
• Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based techniques and curricula identified by management.
• Maintain client caseload and accurate documentation of treatment plans and progress.
• Attend supervision, meetings, and trainings; support licensure and professional development.
• Coordinate with other health professionals and outside agencies as needed.
