Job summary

Harmony Health in Perris, CA seeks a Counseling Supervisor to lead SUD counselors and therapists, supervise documentation, and ensure regulatory readiness. The role balances administrative oversight with clinical empathy and trauma-informed, ethical care.

The ideal candidate maintains a partial patient caseload while guiding staff on ASAM criteria, care planning, and compliance, reporting to the OTP Manager within a tribal wellness context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Counseling, or related behavioral health field.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in SUD counseling, patient assessment, care planning, and documentation.
• Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health Supervisor / Therapist experience in a behavioral health, OTP/MOUD, or substance use treatment setting.

Responsibilities

• Review and sign off as Behavioral Health Supervisor / Therapist on all SUD staff EHR documentation including ASAM assessments, care plans, progress notes, and justifications.
• Conduct ongoing chart audits and clinical record reviews for accuracy and regulatory standards.
• Oversee counselor/therapists’ caseloads and adjust size to optimize patient care and productivity.
• Verify staff proficiency and supervise day-time performance with clinic leadership.
• Maintain a small individual patient caseload and provide direct therapy and care coordination.
• Lead multidisciplinary team huddles, case conferences, and staff meetings.
• Orient and mentor counselors on clinic policies, evidence-based practices, and accrediting standards.
• Contribute to performance evaluations and development plans.
